Originally built to link the Foxfield colliery to the Stoke-Derby mainline, this is the steepest adhesion worked standard gauge line in Britain. These steam trains now regularly run between Cheadle and Dilhorne, providing a gentle way to meander through the North Staffordshire countryside.
